A new Deputy Director for the National Hospital

Specialist Doctor M.K. Sampath Indika Kumara, who was appointed as the new Deputy Director General of the Colombo National Hospital, officially commenced his duties yesterday (15).

He was among eight other officials who received appointment letters for the Deputy Director General position from the Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, on the 11th.




The Ministry of Health has officially announced that steps have been taken to appoint permanent officials to several important administrative positions in the health sector, including the Deputy Director General post of the Sri Lanka National Hospital, after a long period.

Specialist Doctor M.K. Sampath Indika Kumara, who was appointed as the new Deputy Director General of the National Hospital, is a top-tier senior administrative officer in the health sector with expertise in medical administration in this country. He has previously served as the Director of Badulla and Ratnapura Teaching Hospitals, Polonnaruwa District General Hospital, and Polonnaruwa National Nephrology Specialized Hospital. In addition, he has gained exceptional administrative experience by holding director positions in several leading major hospitals across the island, such as the Wayamba Provincial Health Services Director and Apeksha Hospital Maharagama.
