The wife of Mr. A.M. Ranga Nishantha Rajapaksa, Assistant Director of the Department of External Resources at the General Treasury, has filed a complaint with the Kuliyapitiya Police, stating that she has been severely inconvenienced by comments posted on social media and by various individuals regarding her husband's untimely death.




In this complaint filed on May 06, she emphasized that she has no doubts about her husband's death. She further stated in her complaint that due to statements made by Parliamentarian Udaya Prabath Gammanpila and others suggesting that the death is suspicious, she and her children have been subjected to severe mental distress, leading to a lack of peace of mind.

The police state that steps will be taken to conduct a comprehensive investigation into this matter and report the facts to the court. Accordingly, police sources confirm that Mr. Udaya Gammanpila, who stated that Mr. Ranga Nishantha's death was suspicious, and several other individuals are to be summoned to court as witnesses in the inquest. Concurrently, Mr. Gammanpila has already been informed to appear at the Kuliyapitiya Police Station at 10:00 AM on May 09 for questioning regarding the relevant statement.




Commenting on these allegations against him, Mr. Udaya Gammanpila stated that he expects to go to the Kuliyapitiya Police Station this coming Saturday, bringing with him the evidence he possesses.
