due-to-an-unusual-fever-spreading-in-deniya-four-schools-are-closed

Authorities have taken steps to grant a holiday to four main schools in the Matara Deniyaya Educational Zone tomorrow (08th), due to a rapidly spreading fever among school students and teachers in the area.

According to this decision, the schools that will be temporarily closed are Deniyaya Central College, Deniyaya Rajapaksha Maha Vidyalaya, Pallegama Siddhartha Vidyalaya, and Deniyaya St. Matthew's Bilingual College.

It is reported that a large number of students as well as teachers in the relevant schools have fallen victim to this fever, and Mrs. Nishaka Hettigoda, the Zonal Director of Education for Deniyaya, stated that this step was taken considering the recommendations given by the health sector with the aim of controlling the further spread of the disease.

In view of the prevailing risky situation, health authorities have also issued a special notice to parents, urging them to seek immediate medical attention without delay if children show symptoms of fever. Furthermore, authorities have emphasized the importance of properly following all health guidelines provided for disease prevention.
