Malani's image is installed at Gurukula Vidyalaya

A special tribute ceremony was held yesterday (30) at the main hall of Kelaniya Gurukula Vidyalaya for veteran actress Malini Fonseka, who is acclaimed as the Queen of Sri Lankan Cinema. During this dignified ceremony, organized concurrently with her birthday, as she is also a distinguished alumna of Kelaniya Gurukula Vidyalaya, a bust of her was unveiled within the school premises.

Concurrently, the renovated main hall of the college was officially named "Malini Fonseka Theatre".

This special tribute ceremony was organized by the College Alumni Association under the full guidance and direction of the current principal of Gurukula Vidyalaya, Mr. K. Fernando.

Family members of Ms. Malini Fonseka, including her siblings Kalyani Fonseka, Damayanthi Fonseka, and Nimal Fonseka, along with other relatives, participated in this event. In addition, many artists, including Specialist Doctor Deepal Attanayake (an alumnus of Gurukula Vidyalaya), veteran filmmaker Jayantha Chandrasiri, and veteran singer Edward Jayakody, as well as a large number of former students of the school, joined the occasion.
