Female dead body on a property in Eheliyagoda

According to information received yesterday (2025.05.04) morning, the Eheliyagoda Police, operating within their jurisdiction, discovered the dead body of a woman on a plot of land in Pavilla village. Although initially reported as an unidentified body, subsequent investigations revealed that the deceased was a forty-one-year-old woman residing in the Kuruwita area.

This death has now been confirmed as a brutal murder. Initial observations by the police on the deceased's body revealed severe cut wounds in several places.

However, no definite clues regarding the individuals involved in this crime have yet been received by the security forces. A special police operation has already been launched to apprehend the suspects.

The discovered body has been sent to the mortuary at Ratnapura Hospital for post-mortem examination. The Eheliyagoda Police are conducting further extensive investigations to ascertain the cause of the incident and to find the perpetrators.
