Two members of the Sri Lanka Under-19 national cricket team have been arrested by Narahenpita Police in connection with an incident where a group of female doctors in the bathroom of a well-known private hotel in the Narahenpita area were secretly videoed. Police investigations have revealed that these two suspect youths used their mobile phones to video record the women while they were bathing.

A group of 17 women, including a female doctor, who had come to attend a special workshop held at the said hotel, were staying in two rooms there. During the same period, seven players from the Under-19 national cricket team, who had come to Colombo from various parts of the island for cricket training, were also staying at the same hotel, and it is reported that the two suspect players were among them.

Following a complaint received by the Police Emergency Call Unit, Narahenpita Police immediately acted and made these arrests. A comprehensive investigation has now been launched to determine whether the relevant video footage obtained by the suspects has been released online. The police have uncovered further information regarding these two 19-year-old players, who are residents of Poojapitiya in Kandy and Pannala Welpanna areas.

After the two arrested suspect players were produced before the Aluthkade Magistrate's Court, the court ordered their release on personal bail of five hundred thousand rupees each. Narahenpita Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
