Lal's 80 million is enormous - A certain media channel made a minor error - Former MP Madhura Vithanage

Former Member of Parliament Madura Vithanage has severely criticized K.D. Lal Kantha's declaration of assets and liabilities.

Mr. Lal Kantha, who stated in the past that he had no means to live or a proper income, and that he struggled to educate his children with his wife's salary, relying on the help of friends and comrades, has suddenly become a great wealthy person, which he questioned here. He also says that Hiru TV, which defined it as 80 million and 460 million, has made a slight error.

"He himself said that we have no way to live, no way to eat. Our Mr. Lal Kantha very clearly said that he manages to pay his child's tuition fees with great difficulty from his wife's salary. He also said, 'So I live by eating and dressing for free from those comrades and friends.' It's as if a bunch of freeloaders took over this government, a freeloading group took over the country.

So, the people of the country are surprised that those freeloaders who took over the country have suddenly become such great wealthy people, extremely wealthy people, through their declarations of assets and liabilities. Therefore, an answer must be given to that surprise.

Because I saw on a certain media channel that there was an error in adding or increasing these figures. But that's not the point. How did brother Lal Kantha, who said he had nothing to eat or wear and lived off others, earn such immense wealth as a magnate today? How did he acquire assets worth 80 million? How did someone earn that much money? So, there's no answer to that."
