Eheliyagoda: Drunk driver's 6-vehicle accident sends 13 to hospital

Approximately thirteen people have been injured in a severe road accident that occurred in Eheliyagoda town today (15) around 7:00 PM. The accident happened when a motor vehicle, which had gone out of the driver's control, collided with several other vehicles traveling on the road.




According to the police, six vehicles were involved in the accident, including one motorcycle, three trishaws, and two motor cars. A group of local residents who witnessed the incident stated that the driver of the said motor vehicle was under the influence of alcohol.

Approximately thirteen people were injured due to this multi-vehicle accident, and local residents and the police worked together to quickly admit the injured to Eheliyagoda Base Hospital for treatment.




It has not yet been definitively confirmed whether the cause of the accident was a negligent act by the driver or a mechanical fault in the motor vehicle. Eheliyagoda Police have already launched a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
