A twenty-five-year-old woman, who is accused of brutally assaulting a female police constable on duty inside a police station and damaging police documents, has been arrested by Pottapitiya Police. This incident was reported on the evening of the 23rd at the Children and Women's Bureau of the Pottapitiya Police in Kandy, and the injured police officer was admitted to Peradeniya Teaching Hospital for treatment.

The root cause of this conflict is a dispute over a romantic relationship. The suspect's boyfriend had filed a complaint with the police, alleging that the suspect was in a relationship with another young man while also being in a relationship with him. To investigate this complaint, police officers had summoned both the young woman and the complainant boyfriend to the police station that evening.

The young woman who came to the police station left during the investigation and returned to the Children and Women's Bureau a short while later. When the female police constable tried to explain the facts and advise her, the suspect became extremely angry. She then severely scolded her boyfriend, snatched the complaint record books from the police table, threw them to the floor, and behaved in a highly unruly manner.

At that moment, the young woman pulled the constable's hair, who was trying to control the situation, and also scratched her hands with her nails, causing injuries. The local suspect, arrested on charges of obstructing a government officer's duty, criminal force, causing injury, and unruly behavior, is being prepared by the police for presentation to the court.
