Kiribathgoda Police have found the body, and the forty-seven-year-old woman who was in the room with him has been taken into police custody until further investigations into the incident are completed.
The person who unfortunately died in this manner is a 45-year-old three-wheeler driver residing in an area belonging to another police division. The woman taken into police custody is also a resident of the deceased person's village, and it has been revealed that her husband is working abroad. It is also reported that the woman's school-aged son was taken to school daily by the three-wheeler belonging to the deceased.
Police investigations have revealed that due to this daily transportation activity, a close relationship had developed between the two of them, and based on that relationship, the deceased three-wheeler driver had brought this woman to the said lodge in Kiribathgoda. Subsequently, the Suwa Seriya staff who arrived at the scene examined the person lying on the bed and confirmed that he had died. A police team, acting on information received by the Kiribathgoda Police regarding this, arrived at the scene, conducted an investigation, and referred the body to the mortuary of the North Colombo Teaching Hospital in Ragama. The post-mortem examination as well as the inquest into the sudden death of the deceased person are scheduled to be held.
