The Easter attack was something Zahran did for Ibrahim's money - Gammanpila says from a book after summoning Gota and his group

The research book authored by former Member of Parliament Udaya Gammanpila, emphasizing that Zahran Hashim was the main planner or mastermind of the 2019 Easter Sunday terrorist attack, was officially launched on March 31.

Mr. Gammanpila, with evidence, pointed out that all the primary operations for this attack, such as gathering the necessary explosives, selecting suicide bombers, and determining attack targets, were carried out by Zahran Hashim himself, and that the necessary infrastructure as well as financial provisions exceeding 300 million rupees were provided by Mohamed Ibrahim, a politician connected to the National People's Power (NPP). He further stated that since Zahran led this attack as the Sri Lankan leader of the international ISIS organization, there is no other mastermind besides him, and that he even possesses an affidavit given before a court in the United States regarding this matter.

Meanwhile, Mr. Gammanpila also accused the government of attempting to arrest him on March 27 with the aim of preventing the public release of his book. Quoting a statement made by Cabinet Spokesperson Minister Nalinda Jayatissa, he challenged the government to arrest him and show it, adding that previous such attempts on six occasions had been unsuccessful.

However, the book launch event and the associated social media responses took on an extremely critical and satirical tone. The majority of social media users accused that the old politicians seated in the front row at the book presentation ceremony were themselves directly or indirectly responsible for this tragedy, and that presenting this book to them was a matter of ridicule. Many were of the opinion that this was merely a failed political drama that further exploited the tragic fate of the innocent people who became victims of the Easter attack for political gain.
