An official meeting was held at the Presidential Secretariat between a special delegation, including Mr. Masato Kanda, President of the Asian Development Bank, who is on an official visit to Sri Lanka, and President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

During this special discussion, the President expressed his agreement to further expand the previously approved financial assistance of USD 380 million from the Asian Development Bank to Sri Lanka for the current year, increasing it to USD 480 million. The current government's improved financial management in Sri Lanka,

minimizing waste and making decisions from the people's perspective, has been appreciated by the President. Furthermore, the Asian Development Bank representatives decided to promptly release an additional USD 200 million to Sri Lanka as essential support to successfully face the current crisis situation in the country.
