Police seek public assistance to find Wang Huin, the boyfriend who killed the Chinese young woman in Kalubowila.

The Sri Lanka Police is seeking public assistance to locate the main suspect who has fled and is in hiding, in connection with the murder of a Chinese national woman on March 23, 2026, in the Kohuwala, Kalubowila, Peiris Mawatha area. According to police reports, the woman, who was residing in a rented house within a housing complex belonging to the Kohuwala police division, was stabbed with a knife, committing this murder.

The suspect being sought by the police in connection with this crime is a Chinese national named Wang Huiyin, and he is currently believed to be the former boyfriend of the murdered woman. This individual, born on June 01, 2000, has been revealed to use passport numbers EE6791329 and ER3805969. Furthermore, as a distinctive mark for identification, the police have further stated that the suspect has a stitched wound on the fingers of his left hand.

After a disagreement with his girlfriend, he moved into a house adjacent to the housing complex where she resided, and systematically broke into her residential unit, stabbed and murdered her, and injured another Chinese national who was present there before fleeing. It is suspected that this individual committed the murder due to a love triangle dispute. The public is requested to inform the Police Emergency Unit if they have any information about this person. The police have also released a photograph of this individual wearing a red T-shirt.
