LAUGFS Gas price revised

LAUGFS Gas company has decided to increase the prices of its domestic gas cylinders, effective from midnight today (11th). Accordingly, the company announced that the price of a 12.5 kg gas cylinder has been increased by Rs. 300 and the price of a 5 kg gas cylinder by Rs. 120.

With this new price revision, the new price of a 12.5 kg LAUGFS gas cylinder within the Colombo district will increase to Rs. 4,630. Its previous price was Rs. 4,330. Similarly, the new price of a 5 kg gas cylinder, which was Rs. 1,742, will accordingly become Rs. 1,862.

LAUGFS Gas company states that this price revision was necessitated by the current global geopolitical situations and the ongoing conflict environment that has severely impacted the international energy market. They further mentioned that these conditions have created significant pressure within the supply chain, and that the global increase in gas prices as well as difficulties in obtaining gas in the market have primarily contributed to this.
