Heavy traffic congestion on route 120 due to a school van accident.

Traffic on the 120 main road connecting Colombo and Piliyandala has been severely disrupted due to a road accident that occurred this morning (04) in the Rattanapitiya area. According to the Sri Lanka Police, the accident involved a collision between a school van transporting children and a small lorry.

Preliminary reports reveal that after the two vehicles collided, they also hit an electricity pole located by the roadside. The occurrence of this sudden accident during the busy morning hours has caused severe inconvenience to other drivers using the road.

Due to this, the police traffic division indicates that traffic flow in the lane heading from Piliyandala towards Colombo city has been severely delayed. As a result, significant obstructions have been created for vehicle movement in the affected lane.
