The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CEYPETCO) has taken steps to revise the prices of several types of fuel, effective from midnight yesterday (28). According to an official media release issued on February 28, these new retail prices will be applicable to all CEYPETCO fuel stations island-wide.
Under this new price revision, a significant increase is observed mainly in the prices of diesel and regular petrol. Accordingly, the price of a liter of Lanka Petrol 92 Octane has been increased by one rupee, with its new retail price now standing at Rs. 293. Similarly, the price of a liter of Lanka White Diesel has been increased by Rs. 4, marking its new price at Rs. 281. Furthermore, a liter of Lanka Super Diesel (4 Star Euro 4) has been increased by Rs. 6, bringing its new retail price up to Rs. 329.
However, considering consumer needs, the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has decided to maintain the prices of two other fuel types without any change. Accordingly, Lanka Petrol 95 (Octane Euro 4) will continue to be sold at its previous price of Rs. 340 per liter, and Lanka Kerosene at Rs. 182 per liter.
