An accident occurred during a practical experiment conducted in a laboratory of a popular school located in the Bandarawela area, when a beaker containing chemicals exploded. Bandarawela Police state that a teacher and two female students from the same school, who were injured in this unexpected incident, have been hospitalized today (23) for treatment.




Due to this accident, those hospitalized are a 48-year-old female teacher and two 16-year-old female students studying in the eleventh grade. Steps have been taken to admit those who faced the accident to Diyatalawa Base Hospital and Badulla Teaching Hospital.

Preliminary investigations conducted by the police have revealed that this unfortunate situation occurred while an experiment related to a science lesson for eleventh-grade students was being conducted. Police investigations have further confirmed that a beaker containing 'condis' used for the experiment suddenly exploded while being heated.
