President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is scheduled to depart for India this afternoon (17) to participate in the AI Impact Summit 2026, following a special invitation from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This summit, chaired by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aims to responsibly use Artificial Intelligence for the betterment of humanity. President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is scheduled to address the summit on the 19th.

Heads of state from 20 countries and representatives from over 45 countries are expected to participate in the five-day summit.


Furthermore, the summit will feature extensive discussions on the future trajectory of Artificial Intelligence technology and how it can be used to overcome global challenges. During this visit to India, the President is also scheduled to hold bilateral discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several other heads of state.
