The elder brother goes to the police after seeing his younger sister being raped on his friend's mobile phone.

Following the discovery of video footage on the mobile phone of a young man, said to be her boyfriend, showing a fourteen-year-old schoolgirl being raped, the suspect was arrested by Kandana Police based on a complaint made by the schoolgirl's brother. Information about this crime was revealed to the brother when he examined the suspect's mobile phone, and based on the information he provided, the police conducted investigations and arrested this 19-year-old young man on the night of the 3rd.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that the arrested suspect is an acquaintance of a relative of the complainant's brother, and that he had been in a romantic relationship with the minor schoolgirl for some time. The brother, who had borrowed the suspect's mobile phone to make a call, immediately took steps to complain about the matter to the Children and Women's Bureau of the Kandana Police after seeing a series of frames showing his sister being raped while examining the phone.

After the police took custody of the mobile phone, examined the footage on it, and confirmed the crime, the suspect was arrested, and the abused girl has been referred for a medical examination. Under the leadership of Chief Police Inspector Ruwan Kumara, the Acting OIC of Kandana Police, a team of officers including Police Inspector Uthpala, OIC of the Children and Women's Bureau, and Police Inspector Salinda, OIC of the Criminal Investigation Division, are conducting further investigations into the incident.
