Some people have made the President's body shape an issue

Minister Bimal Ratnayake stated in Parliament that mudslinging is being carried out by publishing photographs from the Independence Day celebration, claiming that the President's personality is inadequate.

The Minister further commented that photographs of the President taken at the Independence Day celebration are being compared with those of Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and other individuals, and criticisms are being made that the President's appearance and personality are weak.

Strongly condemning such actions, Minister Bimal Ratnayake emphasized that once a leader is elected by the people's vote in this country, it is everyone's responsibility to show him respect.

Furthermore, the Minister stated that he does not speak about the physical appearance or personal characteristics of the Opposition Leader, and since he too is a leader elected by the people's vote, he also respects him.
