The Trincomalee High Court has ordered the release on bail of four members of the Maha Sangha, including the Venerable Balangoda Kassapa Thero, and six other civilians. Bail was granted to these ten suspects, who were in remand custody, by Trincomalee High Court Judge N.M.M.

Abdullah.

The judge ordered that a cash bail of ten thousand rupees and two personal bails of one million rupees each be deposited for each suspect.

When granting bail, the judge also imposed a strict set of conditions on the suspects. Accordingly, the order states that they should not obstruct investigations and evidence in any way, and must compulsorily appear before the court on trial dates. Furthermore, the court informed the suspects that they should refrain from behaving in a manner that obstructs any religious or public activities.

Issuing this order, the High Court judge emphasized that if even one of the conditions imposed by the court is violated, the granted bail will be revoked, and steps will be taken to remand the suspects again.
