A couple in a vehicle at Akuregoda Keells Car Park is murdered.

Today (13) at around 5:00 PM, two people were killed in a shooting incident that took place inside the car park of a Keells Supermarket located in the Pelawatta, Akuregoda area of Battaramulla, within the Talangama Police Division. Those killed were a woman and a man who were traveling in a motor car.

According to police reports, the couple was attacked while they were inside their car. Two unknown gunmen, who arrived in another vehicle, carried out the shooting using a T-56 type firearm. Both individuals sustained serious injuries from the gunfire and died on the spot inside the car. The suspects fled the scene immediately after the attack.

The identities of the deceased or the motive and perpetrators behind this killing have not yet been revealed. The Talangama Police are conducting preliminary investigations into the incident, and the Police Media Spokesperson stated that three special police teams have already been deployed to apprehend the fleeing suspects and ascertain the reason for the crime.
