The 16-member Sri Lanka squad for the T20 Cricket tournament was officially announced today. As usual, Dasun Shanaka has been named captain of this team, which was selected by the Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee.




This crucial tournament between the two countries will consist of three matches, all of which are scheduled to be held at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy. Accordingly, the first encounter of the tournament is set to begin on January 30th.

The second match of the tournament will be held on February 01, and the third and final T20 match will be played on February 03 at the Pallekele ground. The selection committee has taken steps to create a balanced team for this squad, including strong batsmen as well as many talented bowlers.




According to the announced squad, Pathum Nissanka, Kamil Mishara, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Janith Perera, Dhananjaya de Silva, and Charith Asalanka strengthen the batting lineup. Janith Liyanage and Pawan Rathnayake have also been included in the squad, and all-rounders Wanindu Hasaranga and Dunith Wellalage are expected to provide additional strength to the team.

Looking at the bowling department, Maheesh Theekshana will act as the main spin bowler, while the responsibility of leading the fast-bowling attack has been entrusted to Dushmantha Chameera, Pramod Madushan, Matheesha Pathirana, and Eshan Malinga.
