Businesswoman arrested for bringing commercially purchased goods hidden in luggage from Dubai.

A woman who attempted to illegally bring a stock of foreign goods worth approximately three million rupees into the country has been arrested by customs officers at the arrival terminal of Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport.




The person arrested is a 56-year-old businesswoman residing in Gunasinghapura, Colombo. She arrived on the island yesterday from Dubai on SriLankan Airlines flight UL-226.

Upon inspecting her luggage, airport customs officers were able to find cleverly concealed cosmetics, perfumes, laptop computers, as well as a stock of foreign-made cigarettes and liquor bottles.
