A woman's corpse found in the Agra Oya.

A female dead body was found today (03) by the police in the Agra Oya (river) flowing from the Agra Estate area in Agarapathana. The deceased has been identified as a mother of three children, approximately 85 years old.

A group of people engaged in farming activities in the relevant area saw this dead body floating in the river and took steps to inform the Agarapathana Police about it.

Acting on the information received, the police arrived at the scene and took steps to retrieve the body. The police state that after the preliminary magisterial inquiry, the body is scheduled to be taken to the Nuwara Eliya District General Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The Agarapathana Police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
