Venerable Kotapitiye Thero Reprimands MP Kottahachchi and Panadura Mayor

It is reported that Professor Venerable Kotapitiye Rahula Nahimi, the Anunayake Thero of the Kotte Sri Kalyani Samagri Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha, reprimanded Member of Parliament Ms. Nilanthi Kottahachchi and Panadura Mayor Mr. Hemakumara Perera.

There, His Eminence stated that the Mayor and the MP left the event when he took the microphone.

This incident was reported yesterday (15) at the Panadura Galboda Sri Maha Viharaya during a felicitation ceremony for Venerable Potupitiye Pannasekara Thero, a committee member of the Kalyani Samagri Dharma Maha Sangha Sabha.

Venerable Kotapitiye Rahula Nahimi further alleged that President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has not yet visited his Chief Incumbent.

Rahula Thero emphasized that politicians should have the character to listen to whatever the Bhikkhus say.

It was reported that several political representatives, including Member of Parliament Namal Rajapaksa, National People's Power MP Chandima Hettiarachchi, former Speaker Karu Jayasuriya, former Minister Rajitha Senaratne, and former Member of Parliament Sanjeeva Edirimanna, attended the event.
