Samantha Bhadra Thero has sent legal notices to Suda and Rajaangan Thero for criticizing the statement 'Do not give a single cent of aid to the government'.

It has been announced that Sri Samanthabhadra Thero will take legal action against two YouTube activists who obscenely criticized his public statement, which requested not to provide any aid as the government did not control the recent disaster situations.

Venerable Pitiduwe Siridhamma Thero has filed an interim injunction against social media activist Sudath Tilakasiri and Venerable Rajanganaye Saddharatana Thero, stating that they have severely defamed him through programs published on a YouTube channel and other social media networks under the names 'Sakkili Dhatusuna Samanta Badda Umbaata Pissu' (meaning 'Samanta Badda, you are crazy, you are a dirty relic') and 'Badu Samanta Iwaram Karayi' (meaning 'Samanta will finish the goods'). It has been informed through this interim injunction that these two individuals made malicious statements targeting his client Thero through the relevant programs on or around December 07th of last year, and they are requested to pay a compensation of 500 million rupees each for the damage caused.

On the instructions of Venerable Pitiduwe Siridhamma, also known as Siri Samanthabhadra Thero, residing at No. 02, Bellanthara Road, Dehiwala, Attorney-at-Law Ms. Tenisha Vidanapathirana has sent these interim injunctions to Mr. Sudath Tilakasiri, residing in Rajagiriya, and Venerable Rajanganaye Saddharatana Thero, residing in Anuradhapura, on December 18 and 24 last year. The attorney has further emphasized to these parties that if they fail to pay the relevant compensation within 14 days of receiving this letter, legal action will be taken to recover the money along with the applicable legal interest and court costs.

The letter also points out that it is an offense punishable under the Contempt of Court Act No. 8 of 2024. Furthermore, the interim injunction sent to the relevant parties states that strict legal action will be taken against these false statements, which were made with the intention of destroying the good name, reputation, and honor that Samanthabhadra Thero had built over several decades as a Buddhist monk, a brilliant Dhamma preacher, an author, and a social worker.
