Opposition Poised for Victory: Vajira Demands Immediate Parliamentary Election

There is a greater chance for the opposition to gain power by holding a parliamentary election at this time, and therefore, this opportunity to overthrow the government should be seized.

Former Minister Vajira Abeywardena stated today (20) that his position is that holding an immediate parliamentary election is the most appropriate course of action given the current situation.

He made these remarks while addressing a press conference held in Colombo.

Further elaborating, he also stated:

"If any election is held at this time, the correct answer will be received. That's all I have to say. Now, the most suitable and best thing to do is to call for a parliamentary election to test it. Then the true public opinion can be gauged."
