Mother and two sons killed in a three-wheeler accident while going to get medicine.

A deeply tragic news story is reported from the Dehiattakandiya area. The people in the surrounding villages of Nagaswewa, Mawanagama, and Dehiattakandiya, including Dehiattakandiya itself, are still shedding tears due to the death of a mother and her two sons in a three-wheeler accident.

 The three who tragically lost their lives are the 33-year-old mother S.B. Disna Ayirangani and her children, 4-year-old Sethmina Dinshath Abeywardena and 10-year-old Bimsara Sadeu Abeywardena.

Among the deceased children, Bimsara Sadeu Abeywardena (10) was a talented student who brought great fame to Nagaswewa Primary School by scoring 163 marks in this year's scholarship examination. This mother and her two children, who lived winning the love and kindness of everyone in the village,

The accident occurred while they were on their way to Mahiyanganaya to fetch medicine for the younger son, who was frequently ill.

Mrs. Chandrika Sriyani, a teacher at Nagaswewa Primary School, commenting on this, stated that the principal and the entire teaching staff are deeply saddened by the untimely death of this student. She further added that this incident, occurring at a time when all teachers were ready to help Bimsara, who had always requested assistance to attend a larger school for his education after passing the scholarship exam, is an unbearable pain.

Nagaswewa Principal Mr. Nilantha Samaratunga, expressing his views on this, stated that since the day he took charge of the school, he understood that there were good children, and even in a school with parents facing economic difficulties, by collaborating with the teachers and utilizing teaching-learning resources, Bimsara, who secured the first place by scoring 163 marks in this year's scholarship examination, was a disciplined and exemplary student who brought fame and honor to the school. He also mentioned that due to this, steps were taken to appoint him to the position of Head Prefect.

Furthermore, the principal stated that considering Bimsara's economic difficulties, plans were made to seek assistance from a friend living abroad to further his education, and due to this tragic incident, he and the school's teachers are deeply saddened. The grieving principal emphasized the importance of both vehicles and pedestrians on the road acting cautiously to minimize such heartbreaking incidents in the future, which would help save the young buds poised to take on the future.
