Colombo City Council budget defeated

An unexpected result was obtained in the Colombo Municipal Council budget vote.The 2026 budget of the Colombo Municipal Council, where the National People's Power holds power, was defeated today (22). Here, 60 votes were cast against the budget, while only 57 votes were cast in favor of the budget.
