Tragedy Strikes: Fifteen-Year-Old Boy Drowns in Horana's Remuna Lake

 A fifteen-year-old boy who went to bathe in Horana's Remuna Lake has tragically lost his life after drowning. The deceased is identified as fifteen-year-old Thanush Lakdinu, a resident of Manana, Millaniya area. The incident occurred on the night of the 26th, when the deceased student went to bathe in the said lake with his sixteen-year-old friend.

After the drowned boy was pulled ashore by his friend, who then informed the police emergency hotline, officers from the Anguruwathota Police promptly arrived and took steps to hospitalize the child.

Since the incident occurred within the Horana Police division, further investigations have been taken over by the Horana Police. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the deceased student and his friend had been close companions for a long time, and that they were both receiving medical treatment for a specific medical condition. Under the guidance of Horana Headquarters Police Inspector Ranga Perera and led by Mr. Gunaratne, Police Sergeant Ranjith (43055) and other officers are conducting investigations into the incident.
