Thulahiriya Landslide Buries Six Homes, 21 Feared Missing

 Police report that twenty-one individuals are missing due to a massive landslide that occurred in the Monrovia Estate, located in the Thulahiriya area of Warakapola. This emergency disaster situation was reported after a section of the estate suddenly succumbed to a landslide.

Six houses in the estate were completely buried in this disaster, and eighteen individuals who were residing in those houses are trapped under the earth and missing.

Additionally, it is reported that three other individuals who came forward to rescue those affected by the disaster have also unfortunately gone missing.

Due to the prevailing adverse weather conditions and the unstable nature of the terrain, reaching the disaster site has become extremely difficult for relief teams. Nevertheless, relevant authorities are attempting to continue operations to locate the missing.
