Foreign media reports a story of a woman brought to a temple for funeral rites in Thailand suddenly coming back to life inside her coffin. This unusual incident was reported at Wat Rat Prakong temple in Nonthaburi province, near the capital Bangkok, and the temple staff were greatly astonished to see the body, brought for cremation, move.
The 65-year-old woman had been bedridden for about two years due to illness, and her family members concluded she had passed away after her health deteriorated and she stopped breathing. Subsequently, her brother transported her from Phitsanulok province, a distance of about 500 kilometers, to Bangkok with the intention of donating her organs, as per her prior wishes.
However, the hospital refused to accept her body due to the lack of a legal death certificate. Subsequently, her brother attempted to utilize the free cremation service offered by this temple. While the temple manager was advising her brother on how to obtain a death certificate, they heard a knocking sound coming from inside the coffin.
Upon opening the coffin at that moment, they saw the woman with her eyes open and slightly moving her limbs. The temple caretaker told the media that she must have been knocking on the coffin for quite some time. The staff immediately rushed her to the nearest hospital, where doctors confirmed that she had been unconscious due to an extremely low blood sugar level (Hypoglycaemia). The temple has offered to cover her medical expenses.
