Ambatale Dam Faces Overflow Threat

 It is reported that a severe risk of the Ambatale flood control dam overflowing has now emerged due to the continuous rise in the water level of the Kelani River.

The Chairman of the Sri Lanka Land Development Corporation has officially informed the Director General of the Disaster Management Centre about this urgent risk situation.

Due to this situation, there is a possibility of low-lying areas between the Ambatale Dam and the Malabe - Kaduwela main road being inundated, therefore, authorities urge residents in those areas to evacuate to safe locations immediately.
