23 Killed in Peradeniya Sarasavigama Landslide

 Local residents reveal that over twenty-three people have lost their lives in the sudden landslide that occurred last Friday (28) in the Peradeniya, Sarasavigama area amidst the prevailing adverse weather conditions.

In the face of this disaster, relief teams have so far managed to recover fourteen bodies, and continuous operations are still underway to search for those buried under the earth and reported missing.

Ten houses in the landslide-affected area have been completely destroyed, and residents suspect that the death toll could rise further due to people trapped in the debris.
