The Cook Who Spoiled the Soup! Chef Cuffed for “Training Room” Scandal

A senior chef at a top hotel in Biyagama has been remanded till the 14th after shocking allegations surfaced that he sexually harassed two young women who had come for advanced chef training.

The case, heard before Additional Magistrate Bandara Ilangasinghe, revealed that the married head chef had engaged in “inappropriate physical conduct” — allegedly touching the trainees under his supervision in an indecent manner.

The two young women had first reported the incidents to senior hotel management, who then alerted the Biyagama Police. Following investigations led by Sergeant Sushantha (No. 35328) of the Crimes Division, the chef was arrested and produced before court.

What was meant to be a culinary career move for the young women has now turned into a headline-grabbing scandal — a tale of how one chef’s misconduct “spoiled the soup” for everyone at the hotel.
