Colombo, Sri Lanka – February 2025 – Ishadi Amanda, the runner-up in the prestigious Mrs. World competition, captivated the media with her powerful reflections on the journey that led her to success. At a media briefing held at the luxurious Amari Hotel in Colombo, Ishadi shared her inspiring story of perseverance, self-belief, and the unwavering support that propelled her to the global stage.
Since her childhood, Ishadi had always harbored a deep belief in herself, particularly her aspiration to become a strong, empowered woman. “The confidence and desire to be a powerful woman from an early age were pivotal in my success,” she expressed, beaming with pride as she recalled the moment of triumph. “I’m thrilled to bring this honor to my country.”
Ishadi, who traveled from France to participate in the competition, credited her family for their unrelenting support throughout her journey. She recounted how, at the age of 16, she began working to support herself. “I had to cover my expenses on my own, and that independence made me confident in making decisions. It was that very confidence that led me to start my own business while working at a bank,” she explained.
But for Ishadi, true beauty is not confined to what meets the eye. “Real beauty should be measured not just by external appearances but by inner strength,” she said firmly. Drawing from her own experience as a wife and mother, she added, “Some may believe that becoming a wife or a mother limits a woman’s potential, but I firmly believe that no matter what role we play, we must continue to push forward and embrace our abilities.”
Chandimal Jayasinghe, the National Director of Mrs. Sri Lanka, commended Ishadi’s dedication, highlighting the significant sacrifice she made by bringing her child and family from France to participate in the competition. “Ishadi’s commitment is immense, and it is something everyone should appreciate,” he remarked, urging the public to recognize the challenges and sacrifices that often go unnoticed behind a success story.
Looking to the future, it was revealed that Sri Lanka has been proposed as the host for the 2025 Mrs. World competition, with Ishadi set to return to the island to take part in the event. Ishadi expressed her enthusiasm about this opportunity and shared her intention to contribute to the development of Sri Lanka’s tourism sector. “I’m ready to give back to my country by promoting our tourism industry,” she affirmed.
Despite facing intense competition, Ishadi managed to achieve remarkable results in a short period of preparation. Reflecting on her journey, she said, “I’m grateful for the results I’ve achieved, especially considering the challenges and the limited time I had to prepare. This experience has been incredibly fulfilling.”
Ishadi Amanda’s story is a testament to the power of belief, resilience, and dedication—qualities that not only helped her secure a top spot in the Mrs. World competition but also serve as an inspiration to women everywhere striving to break barriers and follow their dreams.
