Samitha Dulan Kodithuwakku succeeded in winning the silver medal in the men's javelin throw (F64) event at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games yesterday (02).
In doing so, he recorded a personal best distance of 67.03 meters, breaking his own previous world record of 66.49 meters.
India's Sumit Antil won the gold medal in this category, recording a throw of 70.59 meters, repeatedly establishing his own record.
Australia's Mitchell Buran won the bronze medal with a distance of 64.89 meters.
With this victory, Samitha Dulan has won his second Paralympic medal in the men's F64 javelin throw final, following the bronze medal he obtained in Tokyo.
Samitha Dulan's achievement yesterday marks the highest accomplishment by a Sri Lankan athlete in Olympic and Paralympic competitions.
