First Sri Lankan infected with corona ... at IDH

Health authorities have stated that the first Sri Lankan infected with corona is reported this morning (11) from Colombo IDH. It is understood that this person has operated as a tourist guide for foreigners and may have been infected by someone who had come from abroad. What specialist consultant Dr. Ananda Wijewickrema said was that he is under treatment at IDH. 

What the specialist doctor said was that this person has entered IDH two days back because of a feverish condition. This middle-aged person has been travelling with a group of Italian nationals, it is learned. No further information has been released about him. Two other Sri Lankans who were infected by corona in United Arab Emirates were found yesterday (10) and prior to that a Sri Lankan woman infected with the virus in Italy was found. 

Gulf News Service quoting from government reports say that there are two Sri Lankans among the 15 patients infected with corona virus detected in United Arab Emigrates. That same report says that including those two Sri Lankans, 15 other foreigners have been directed towards quarantine procedures. Apart from Sri Lanka, three Italian nationals, two from Emir, two Indians, two Britishers, one Iranese, one German, one Tanzanian and one South African are among those 15, it was reported. 

Schools in United Arab Emir have been closed because of the corona situation and it has been reported that full support has been made available to publicise health procedures and the quarantine process. Details have not been publicised about the two Sri Lankans.
