3 days since warrant issued -- Ravi still missing

Though Fort magistrate issued a warrant last Friday that 9 suspects including former Mp Ravi Karunanayaka and owner of Perpetual Treasuries Company, Arjun Aloysius be immediately arrested ... so far only one has been taken into custody and that is a director of Perpetual Treasuries Company named A. Muthuraja Surendran.

With  relevance to this case Arjun Aloysius was taken into custody; but there was no arrest made on
Mp Ravi Karunanayaka as such. Whatever it is, Ravi Karunanayaka had been appearing before the media talking about the crisis in the UNP. However, no sooner this warrant was issued, he has disappeared into thin air and it has not been possible to locate him. There are rumours that he has taken refuge at some elite person's house.

6 special police teams has been deployed to arrest Ravi Karunanayaka, it is reported. They are engaged in carrying out an inspection about locations where he frequently visits and eve yesterday and day before yesterday a number of such places have come under scrutiny -- however they had to return empty-handed as such. The house down Rajamalwaththa Road in Battaramulla where he lives first came under inspection; but he was not to be found. What householders have said was that he has gone somewhere without giving any indication where it was. Subsequently though the house was visited on the second day ... he had not returned home.

Presently the director of Perpetual Treasuries, Muthuraja Surendran who is under custody according to warrant is to be placed in remand till next 18th, court has ordered. Meanwhile, a rumour floats around that Ravi Karunanayaka would be surrendering himself to court through an attorney at law.
