Was Mr. Arthur or Mr. Prabath the patron of Chooda Manikya? Media announcement regarding false rumours

The new crest gem being unveiled at Ruwanveliseya in Anuradhapura recently was carried out in a ceremonious manner while inaccurate news about the person who was responsible for it in a major way has circulated around the social media. What was mentioned at one place was that a famous wealthy philanthroper, Arthur Senanayaka  has provided his patronage in this matter. Mr. Arthur Senanayaka who is a pioneer owner of Sampath bank and Celltel company and the director of IWS
Holdings and the person who gets down Volvo and Porsche cars to Sri Lanka as well as helicopters was someone who was a donor in pinkamas such as this previously ... he has in this instance has not been a donor for this Ruwanveliseya pinkama. 

It is true that Mr. Arthur Senanayaka was a donor in 2013 in the Chooda Manikya in Mihintale seya and the chooda manikya in 2016 of Sella Kataragama Karivile Vathuruwaseya. These pinkamas were carried out on behalf of his son who tragically met with an untimely death from dengue fever. However, on this particular occasion it was Mr. Prabath Nanayakkara who conducts Vishwa Parami Buddhist society and designed the chooda manikya of Ruwanveliseya footing all expenditure and incidentally who became the subject of discussion among many people. 

He has not come before the media in this connection because he did not want his identity and address publicised and build up an image for himself through it. However, as this topic has been subjected to wrong propaganda of wrong people continuously, viharadhipathi of Ruwanveliseya Pallegama Hemarathana thero, the thero has had to release a press announcement about this matter.
