Gotabhaya at Nugegoda - Sajith at Weerawila - Anura at Panchikawaththa

Candidates contesting presidential elections this time ... Sajith Premadasa, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and Anura Kumara Dissanayaka would be casting their vote at polling stations of Weerawila, Nugegoda and Panchikawaththa. As such, presidential candidate of Nawa Prajathanthrawadi Peramuna and minister of housing, construction and culture Mr. Sajith Premadasa is expected to cast his vote at Abhayapura Suranimala junior school, Weerawila. Former secretary of defence,
presidential candidate of Sri Lanka Podu Jana Peramuna will be casting his vote at Sri Vivekarama, Mirihana, Nugegoda. Presidential candidate Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayaka, leader of Jathika Jana Balavegaya is expected to cast his vote at Abhayasingharama, Panchikawattha, Colombo.

The manner in which the candidates would be casting the vote being made public has been prohibited to the media according to election rules. Mr. Sajith Premadasa with his bride has left to cast the vote while Mr. Gotabhaya sipped water from the hands of his wife and obtained her blessings and set off to the polling station. (Gotabhaya's wife being an American citizen was deprived of casting her vote in Sri Lanka).
