Sensational proposals forwarded to presidential candidates by 5 parties including Tamil National Alliance

The decisive factor for victory at the forthcoming presidential election for both Sajith and Gotabhaya is as to whom the Tamil national community representing the second largest ethnic group in this country would cast their vote. 

It is reported that the Tamil National Alliance who have been keeping their fingers crossed upto now have signed a letter containing a list of proposals to be handed over to all candidates and the said document has been prepared by 4 Tamil political parties in the North getting together with C.V.
Wigneshwaran's party. Illankai Tamil Arusakachchi party, PLOT, TELO and Tamil National Alliance together with Tamil People's Alliance of Mr. C.V. Wigneshwaran. 

These proposals consisting of 13 demands are extremely debatable. Proposals of Tamil political parties in this context are seen below: 

 1. To unite North - East under the new constitution and acquire rights of decision their own.

2. To Investigations to be handled through mediation of an international court for alleged war crimes and punishment meted out to offenders.

3. Abolishing terrorism prevention act.

4. To release all Tamil prisoners without any conditions attached in that respect.

5. To carry out an international investigation about missing persons.

6. To release all private and state-owned lands of Tamil people in North - East.

7. Prevent colonisation of Sinhala - Buddhist people in North - East and to eliminate Sinhala villages with immediate effect.

8. To stop Sinhala colonisation in North - East under the Mahaweli scheme and to and to remove colonies already set up. 

9. Sinhala colonies established in the Wanni for Moragahakanda water project be removed.

10. Birthplaces of Tamil people who are under territories of archaelogical, wild life and conservation of forests departments be immediately be released. 

11. Solving unemployment problem of young men and women in North - East. 

12. To provide employment in North - East private and state factor and to give prominence to young men and women in such areas. 

13. To list names of places which came under pressure in North - East war and to carry out development activities with consent of public representatives across a public committee.
