Investigations about Zaharan's 16 year old son, second in command trained in handling weapons -- special inquiries about 28 suspects

An extensive investigation is presently underway about suspects who were connected to Zaharan Hashim who carried out the Easter attack on April 21st while investigations being carried out with regard to 16 year old son of Naufer Moulavi supposed to be the second in command of Zaharan and the 28 specially identified and results of this investigation was revealed yesterday in court. 

When a 16 year old student named Mohommed Naufer Mohommed Abdullah studying in a Kurunegala Madrasa Arab school was taken into custody, it was revealed that he had undergone in
firearms and explosives under Zaharan at a training camp in Nuwara Eliya. This child who says that he has even taken his oaths in presence of Zaharan after which he was given the name "Abu Hassan" by the organisation concerned and it was further revealed that similar minors such as him were enlisted in this organisation and were given a training. Naufer Moulavi (suspect's father) is under custody of the CID. 

12 leaders of Thawheed Jamath including 12 activists were accosted by state intelligence service of Amparai section and a team of Amparai police officers recently and when interrogated, according to information divulged, this 16 year old child was taken into custody, police say. It is said that though Naufer Moulavi had planned to carry out explosions in 9 areas, since he was arrested, it was possible to prevent those explosions, police say. 

Terrorist control and Investigation division has launched a special investigation on 28 persons who are said to have been involved in lectures of leader of Thawheed Jamath organisation, Zaharan and had undergone training in firearms and also have been pursuing studies of ideologies of ISIS organisation. It was also revealed that the 28 persons arrested from various locations in the island on April 27th in relation to the Easter Sunday attack in accordance with Terrorist Prevention Act and are detained Terrorist Control and Investigation division had undergone training in firearms at centres conducted in various parts of the island in the company of the leader of Thawheed Jamath organisation and had been further watching CD tapes carrying ideologies of ISIS organisation and studying them, it was revealed. 

These suspects after engaging in such training have released certain information related to ISIS activities across the internet and had tried to socialise them via facebook. It was revealed how some of these suspects have earned crores of rupees within the space of a short time and it has come to be known the manner in which they have earned that money in illicit ways.
