Body of Thejan who became prey to Shangri- La bomb when tapping Zaharan's shoulder ... finally ends up by being brought to the house after 3 months
The dead body of Colombo Shangri La hotel employee Thejantha (20) who became prey to suicide bomb attack last April 21st was brought to the house after 5 days after the three months alms-giving.
This young man living at Bulugahagoda, Ganemulla was serving in the restaurant opposite Shangri La hotel on that particular day. At CCTV observations deceased Thejantha's father said that it was noted that he was standing close to Zaharan a few seconds before the bomb blast and had cast a
suspicious glance at him and had inquired something by making a tap on Zaharan's shoulder. Just then Zaharan has blast the bomb and Thejan was subjected to a serious explosion as such. It was a difficult task to identify Thejantha's body from among those who died. Obviously there was a delay in perusing DNA of parts of the body. Whatever it is, Thejantha's father has told media that a delay extending to 3 months as such poses a question. Though this examination was carried out after Thejantha's father's blood samples were sent on May 29th ... there had been none to inquire about it. Later on Thejantha's father has paid a visit to government analyst's office last July 26th to inquire about the delay ad it was only after that it was possible to bring the corpse home in this manner. Parts of the dead body were sealed and steps were taken by family members to carry out the burial on the very day the corpse was received.
