Because of Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya employees' conflict with Minister Ravi ... power supply in disorder

Sri Lanka Nidahas Sevaka Sangamaya has mentioned that because of obstructions of minister of power and energy, Mr. Ravi Karunanayaka during the work process of activities in preparation of fuel lines from Colombo port to Kolonnawa and therefore they are stopping supplying fuel to ceylon electricity board from last midnight (30). It was also mentioned that in this connection all trade unions of Sri Lanka petroleum corporation would be supporting this cause. 

The societies concerned have informed that when compensation has been paid for houses that are to
be removed when laying 12 inch pipe lines, the minister is making influences on the relevant activities without any rhyme or reason. 

There is a risk created of a power crisis in future because private power stations belonging to the electricity board and ministry of electricity will have to go in this manner because of lack of fuel. What trade unions say is that if a power crisis emerges, it is the minister who should be held responsible. It is reported that the minister does not allow illegal residents to vacate their homes and that issues could flare up as a consequence.
