Jananath Warakagoda remanded for having knocked down and killing woman walking on pedestrian crossing!
A woman walking along a pedestrian crossing was knocked down by a vehicle driven by reputed drummer, Jayanath Warakagoda. The said accident has occured this morning around 5.30 at Kirillawala, Kadawatha and the deceased is a lady of 68 years of age, it is reported. Musician Jayanath Ranga Warakagoda has been remanded till 18th on charges of ths accident. On admittance to Ragama hospital she has passed away.
It is one 68 year old resident of Suriyapaluwa, Kadawatha named H.K. Preethi Sobin de Silva who
was the victim in this accident. After the suspect was produced before Mahara court today was remanded till next 18th. Jayanath who leads an internationally recognised group of drummers has even participated as a judge of Reality contests and thus has won much acclaim. Jayanath happens to be the son of well-known artiste Wijeyrathna Warakagoda.
