"I did all that because of younger brother who was murdered" -- Makandure Madush says in letter written on occasion of father's death
Makandure Madush instead of loving his father ... was someone who hated his father during his childhood and that was after his mother was killed by being shot at after which his father had instead of caring for him had married another woman and gone to live elsewhere. Madush in fact was brought up under the care of his mother's younger sister. Whatever it is, at a later stage after Madush became a millionaire by earning in unscrupulous ways, he began to inquire about his father. His only younger brother being murdered by enemies was news that really shocked Madush. On that occasion
he shared the sorrow together with his father after which he got nearer to his father.
he shared the sorrow together with his father after which he got nearer to his father.
His father died suddenly from an accident in 2018 at the time Madush was hiding in Dubai. Madush's father, 62 year old Samarasingha Aarachchilage Lakshman or Lal who sustained serious injuries from a traffic accident on September 20th, 2018 was immediately admitted to Kalutara Nagoda hospital. Lakshman who was under treatment for close upon nine days in hospital suddenly passed away on the 29th. Until his death not many people as to who he was until his death.
However, after the death on 29th, he was brought to a florist in Makandure and it was was reported to police intelligence service about the deceased. Though Madush had the desire to attend his father's funeral, he avoided coming because he feared that he would be cornered by police. The body of Madush's father happened to lie at house 354 in Mahagama Janapadaya in Hathporuwa.
In any case Madush took steps to issue instructions and necessary funds from Dubai to conduct the funeral in a grand manner. In the same way he pledged to erect a building at the temple premises on behalf of his father and he kept his promise in a very short time. It was reported that Madush had taken action to view funeral proceedings 'live' across internet and his father's funeral took place with honours given to a leader of state with flowers being sprinkled from the skies by helicopter. In the meantime, Madush prepared various notes and comments on behalf of his father and those were printed and distributed at the funeral.
After Madush was apprehended, DVDs and printed matter were destroyed by those who were in possession of them. The reason for this was that identity of others would be exposed and also because those who were in possession of all that would have to face answering unnecessary questions about connections with Madush.
After Kelum Indika alias Kevuma who functioned as chief organiser of Madush's father's funeral activities was taken into custody by police, heroin and weapons were found in a house in Moratuwa. In the process among items found from the house in Moratuwa, printed matter relevant to Madush's father's funeral and a DVD also were found. In that printed matter were poems and letters related to the death of his father were found. In messages of sorrow sent by Madush it was mentioned that Makandure Madush took weapons into his hands with the purpose of taking revenge for having untimely killed his brother and that those who become a curse to to the country will be vanquished in the name of the dead body of his father.
Two of such verses which gives an interpretation as follows are:
" ... grabbed the brother who was born in the same womb ...
flowers belonging to others blossomed in the world of authority ...
there's no other way than taking to weapons in the tears in your eyes ...
shall make a pledge in the name of my father ...
shall safeguard your future generation with my blood ...
shall protect the land as the king born to this soil from your blood and
shall protect the last breath in the name of motherland"
A part of another comment is as follows:
"When political inhumans who snatched away the life of father's younger son of the elite class dwell in luxury; I saw the sadness through the dormant paternal sentiments from gestures on your face my father ...
to soften that pain I didn't think twice or was drawn back to take weapons into my hands 'cause the blood which ran across my father's heated flesh and bones and blood of brotherly love ... pursuing those inhumans.
I shall not let them snatch away the lives of such innocent lads ...
shall pledge for the final time in your name to crush those who are a curse to the country, society ...
I am your loku putha ... shocked by your sudden demise
- a father who begot a famous son to the land ... who surpassed gates of death
