Moratuwa Engineer student too drowns on river!

A group of students from Moratuwa University had gone for a boat ride in Kelani river day-before-yesterday (20) afternoon and one of the students in the crowd had died with their boat capsizing.

The boy has been identified as one 23 year old D.D. Kanishka D. Weerakoon studying in the 3rd year

at the Engineeering faculty. Friends of the deceased student said that he had being riding boats with a clique of 13 friends at Yatiberiya, Kithulgala that day when the boat had tilted on a side, causing the accident.

The dead body by now lies at Kithulgala District Hospital and inquiry into sudden deaths and the post-mortem is to be conducted. The inquiry by Ginigathhena police in this case would conduct investigations as with regard to the death of tele-drama actress who too died by drowning last week reported from Yatiberiya area, Kithulgala.
