38 lakhs worth dessert to Yehali from Sangakkara!
An incident is reported of a dessert worth 38 lakhs being presented to Yehali, wife of distinguished cricketer Kumar Sangakkara by the latter during a tourist promotion programme held yesterday at Nuwara Eliya.
The said promotion was held at Nuwara Eliya
Grand Hotel and it is said that Chef Viraj Jayaratna of that hotel had prepared this valuable desert called 'Marry me'. The desert was ceremoniously presented to Mr. Kumar Sangakkara in the morning yesterday (3) and the moment when he tried to permit his wife to taste the desert is seen in the photograph below.
It is understood that this creation was prepared with the objective of furthering the attraction of foreign tourists to Sri Lanka. When preparing this desert the raw material was imported from foreign countries and in the bowl containing the desert a valuable gemstone was made to rest on a miniature lotus pillar, it was reported.
Chef Viraj Jayaratna who boasts of an experience of about 25 years in the preparation of food is someone who has been subjected to foreign awards and has thus claimed about 30 medals in the process. Minister John Amaratunga and many invitees joined in at the launch of the memorable desert. The government has footed financial expenses for this desert.
